Asking Better Questions: A Lesson from Jesus (Mt 16:15)
Jesus often taught through questions. In Matthew 16:15, He asked His disciples, “But what about you? Who do you say I am?” — a powerful reminder that the right question can reveal the heart.
As a leader, parent, or friend, asking better questions opens doors for deeper conversations and stronger relationships. Here are 3 questions I’m committing to ask more often:
- “How are you, really?” ❤️
- “What’s been bringing you joy lately?” 🌱
- “How can I pray for you today?” 🙏
Your turn — what’s one meaningful question you love to ask? Let’s build a list together and grow in how we connect with others.
Asking these kinds of questions matters because they help us slow down and truly connect with others. In a busy world, it’s easy to stick to surface-level conversations like, “How are you?” and just move on. But when we ask deeper, intentional questions, we show people that they matter and that we genuinely care about their hearts and struggles.
These questions also help us become better listeners, friends, and leaders. They open space for healing, encouragement, and even opportunities to pray for someone. In daily life, this means stronger relationships, clearer understanding, and living out our faith in simple yet powerful ways.
Sometimes, one good question can change someone’s day — or even their life. Wouldn’t you want to be that person for someone?
